2. Minimum age
TravRec is intended for users aged 18 years or older. TravRec is not intended for children.
3. Data we process
We process personal data only where necessary to provide, operate, secure, and improve TravRec.
Account data
When you create and use a TravRec account, we process:
- email address
- authentication data
- account ID / user ID
- login and session information
- email verification and password reset information
Authentication is provided through Supabase Auth. Passwords are not stored in plain text by TravRec.
Profile data
Your TravRec profile may include:
- username
- display name
- profile description / about text
- profile photo
- join date
- user ID
Profile information may be visible to other TravRec users depending on app access rules.
Travel recommendations and user-generated content
TravRec allows users to create travel recommendations (“TravRecs”). A TravRec may include:
- title
- description or details
- category or type
- place or map coordinates connected to the recommendation
- visibility setting, such as public or friend-only
- creator ID
- creation date
- likes, comments, or other social interactions
- optional uploaded image
TravRecs are user-generated content. Public TravRecs may be visible to other users. Friend-only TravRecs are intended to be visible only to accepted friends of the creator.
Uploaded images
You may upload images, including profile pictures and images for travel recommendations. TravRec currently allows selecting images from your photo library. Camera access is not used in the current beta version.
During beta testing, image upload may be available while some image display features are still limited.
Friends, blocking, reports, and interactions
TravRec processes data related to:
- friend requests and friendships
- likes and comments
- blocks between users
- reports of content or user behavior
If a user blocks another user, both users no longer see each other’s content. The block can only be removed by the user who created the block.
Reports are reviewed manually by the TravRec team. We aim to review reports of content or user behavior within 24 hours and take appropriate action where necessary.
Location and map data
TravRec does not currently use GPS location access.
TravRec may use approximate IP-based location via ipwho.is to help show a relevant map area. This is not precise GPS tracking.
TravRec uses map and location-related services to display maps and convert address or place searches into coordinates. This may include map tile services such as CARTO and ArcGIS/Esri and geocoding functionality used in the app.

When you use TravRec, technical data may be processed, such as:
- device and app information
- IP address
- timestamps
- request and server logs
- error or security-related logs
